The Waal River Crossing: 1944

The crossing, in flimsy canvas boats and under German observation, was featured in the classic war film, A Bridge Too Far, but this time you’ll hear from the real paratroopers who were there and executed this suicide mission in broad daylight. The crossing of the Waal is considered one of WWII’s most heroic acts.
