Sheila Gray
Director of Operations
Sheila was raised in Newport RI and is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. She worked for 30 years in the mortgage and finance industry before becoming the Director of Operations for the Foundation in 2019. Her passion for World War II history and her position with the Foundation has afforded her the opportunity to visit some of the most famous battlesights in the war as well as having allowed her the honor of meeting many of those who served.
Thomas Brassil
Director of Educational Programs and Museum Operations
Thomas Brassil is the Director of Educational Programs and Museum Operations for the World War II Foundation. Tom has a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Rhode Island and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from Johnson and Wales University. Thom has spent several years working in nonprofit organizations, with museums one of his greatest passions. The International Museum of World War II collection is expansive and allows Thom to explore this transformative period through these items. By way of the work at the World War II Foundation, Thom hopes to give the public, and especially students, a greater understanding of this tumultuous time in world history.

Tim Gray, Founder and President of The World War II Foundation, has won 7 Regional Emmy Awards for documentary writing and outstanding documentary. The Foundation has also captured dozens of international film awards. Most prestigiously, the World War II Foundation and Tim Gray Media have also been recognized with American Public Television’s National Programming Excellence Award.
Tim Gray has completed 45 documentaries to date (and is in production & post-production on an additional eight films). Tim has written, produced, and directed each film, ranging from 60 to 90 minutes. These documentaries have led the WWII Foundation to film in locations including Guadalcanal, Corregidor, Bataan, Manila, the Philippines, the Solomon Islands, the Russell Islands, Banika, Peleliu, Iwo Jima, Japan, Guam, and the Republic of Palau. In addition, Tim has visited Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (18 times), Normandy, France (20 trips), Switzerland, Holland, England, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland (including the Auschwitz and Treblinka Concentration and Death Camp locations), the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Italy and all over the United States, including the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, DC, where Tim met the President and presented him with 2 of his films.

World War II Foundation/Tim Gray Media films consistently rank among the top 5 most-requested programs on PBS and Public Television affiliates.
Narrators of Tim’s films include Tom Brokaw, Paul Giamatti, Jim Nantz, Gary Sinise, Kevin Bacon, Liev Schreiber, Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Bill Belichick, Jeff Daniels, Damian Lewis, Kyle Chandler, Dan Aykroyd, Tom Selleck, Keith Morrison, Jane Lynch, Matthew Broderick, Greg Kinnear, and many others.
On June 6, 2012, the World War II Foundation dedicated the Richard D. Winters Leadership Monument in Normandy, France, which has since become one of the region’s most-visited monuments. The 13-foot statue recognizes the leadership of all American junior officers on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
Tim is also the founder of the Normandie-World War II International Film & Media Festival in Saint-Come-du-Mont, France. It’s the only film festival in the world dedicated exclusively to documentaries and short films about World War II. 2022 marked the festival’s 6th and final year, attracting some of the world’s top actors and authors as speakers, as well as WWII veterans. It’s held at the beautiful D-Day Experience, which features a unique IMAX theater.
In 2018, Tim founded the International Museum of World War II in Rhode Island. The museum, filled with roughly 6,000 original and rare WWII artifacts, hosts school groups around Southern New England. It also has over 600 books related to WWII and a small theatre. The education center has been recognized as one of the world’s best small WWII museums and was recently named by National Geographic among the top 10 WWII museums to visit worldwide.
Tim has also been a frequent guest on FOX News’ national program The Story with Martha MacCallum, where he contributes to the network’s coverage of WWII events, issues, and stories.
In 2021, Tim Gray was inducted into the Rhode Island Hall of Fame. The RI Heritage Hall of Fame was established in 1965.
Academically, Tim works with history and film students from Davidson College in North Carolina, the University of Georgia, and Syracuse University. Each year, the World War II Foundation partners with these great schools to take their top film and history students to shoot multiple documentaries across Europe. In 2026, the fifth year of this unique program, the foundation will be traveling to Normandy, France, with the college students.
Before Tim Gray’s Documentary Film Work:
Tim worked as a television sports and news anchor and reporter for over 15 years in several states and U.S. markets, including Michigan, Washington State, Florida (Fort Myers and Orlando), New York, and Providence, Rhode Island. In 2000, Tim was appointed weekend sports anchor and sports/news reporter at Ch. 10 in Providence, another NBC affiliate. He held that job until 2004. While in Ft. Myers, FL, Tim was named Sportscaster of the Year by the Florida Sportscasters’ Association and a top feature reporter.
Tim is a University of Rhode Island graduate with a degree in Journalism.
Through various initiatives, Tim Gray and his project work have appeared in and been featured on: The Today Show, MSNBC, Fox News, Discovery Channel, CNN, C-Span, PBS stations around the country and world, the United States Armed Forces Radio Network, the Associated Press, and in national and global newspapers and magazines.
Dave Beaty

Dave Beaty, an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and producer at Dreamtime Entertainment in Fort Myers, FL, brings over three decades of unique storytelling expertise to the production department of Dreamtime Entertainment. Dave’s distinctive style, creative vision, Directing, Editing, Videography, Sound Mixing, and computer graphics help elevate the idea and bring emotion to the story.
Awards include a 2009 Emmy award for the PBS national documentary “Under the Sea With Al Giddings,” an Emmy for camera work in Travel Channel’s “Waters Edge The Bahamas,” and in 1999, a Suncoast Emmy Award for his editing of the PBS documentary, “Children of the Fourth World”. In 2000, Dave received the International Monitor Award for “Uncommon Friends of the 20th Century”. Dave has also been honored with many Telly Awards, Addys, and a Cable Ace nomination. Other network programming includes Travel Channel’s “Freeze Frame Fiji” and “Wildlife Encounters in Alaska with Ali MacGraw,” The History Channel’s “Fireboats of 9/11,” and “The Nazi Plan to Bomb New York.” Dave has also worked on feature segments for America’s Most Wanted, Animal Planet and Home & Garden Television to name a few.
Jim Karpeichik

Jim Karpeichik is President and Creative Director at Ocean State Video in Rhode Island. Jim has over 40 years of experience with video production. His work has appeared on PBS, NBC Nightly News, Discovery Channel, CNN, History Channel, ESPN, TNT, Fox Sports Network, CBC, C-SPAN, and numerous television stations across the country, including WJAR in Providence, RI, where he worked for 14 years, nine as Chief Photographer. Other production experience includes documentaries, commercials and sizzle reels, non-profit videos, corporate presentations, educational programs, training videos, and promotional DVDs.
Jim has been awarded over a dozen regional Emmy Awards for his work.
John Paluzzi

John Paluzzi is a seasoned video production professional with over 27 years in the news and media industry. A graduate of Castleton University, he founded Full Circle Productions in Fort Myers, Florida, in 1999 to pursue his passion for film and video. As president of the company and its sister entity, Full Circle Live, Paluzzi serves as director of photography, leading high-end projects, including corporate videos, documentaries, commercials, and live HD broadcasts for major networks such as PBS, CNN, and ESPN. His work has captured global historical events and high-profile assignments, such as the 2020 Super Bowl LIV pre-show featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Pitbull. Known for his creativity, reliability, and client relationships, Paluzzi emphasizes 24/7 dedication while balancing the flexibility of freelance production.
Taylor Shults
Social Media Manager
Taylor Shults is a University of Georgia alumna and media professional with experience across documentary, television, educational, and digital content. Her past work includes projects with the Producers Guild of America, the Television Academy Foundation, The Bachelor franchise, local Atlanta film productions, Realize Videos, and the social media agency Studio Bloom. In the summer of 2025, Taylor traveled as a student with the World War II Foundation to film historic WWII sites across Europe. This experience inspired her to highlight and preserve powerful, historical stories through her work.
