Privacy Policy

Your Privacy is Important

The World War II Foundation places a high priority on protecting the privacy of our global audience. This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate the Foundation’s commitment to the privacy of all audiences, including students, educators, and all website users. This policy explains what types of information is collected by the World War II Foundation website, www.wwiifoundation.org, and how this information is used.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected:
Visitors that register for www.wwiifoundation.org, and individuals that sign up to receive our e-communications voluntarily, provide us with contact information including name, e-mail address, and other information. The Foundation may use this information for specific, limited purposes. The members of our audience may always “opt-out” at any time in the relationship cycle if they do not wish to receive messages.

IP addresses:
The World War II Foundation uses IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer www.wwiifoundation.org, and for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic.

Cookies:
www.wwiifoundation.org uses “cookie” messages to automatically help provide better services for members of the online community; these messages remind us of users’ preferences while using our website. The “cookie” is placed in a user’s computer and is read when they return to the website to allow the website to lead users to the information and features they are most interested in. They also let us track the usage of www.wwiifoundation.org and tell the Foundation which parts of the site are most popular. Users may reject cookies and cancel them by instructing their web browsers accordingly.

How Your Information May Be Used:
The Foundation uses personal information to provide personalized service; to send e-mail alerts; to answer requests, and to process membership applications. Users may choose to opt-out at any time and cease all communications from our Foundation. The Foundation may also use the information to track visitors to our website, in order to see which of the features are the most popular and to optimize users’ experiences. It allows the Foundation to provide aggregate data about web traffic — not identifying users personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example, to outside parties.

Email Privacy:
The Foundation has a Constant Contact database of emails that it uses for a quarterly newsletter. Constant Contact Information Security Policy can be found online at https://www.constantcontact.com/legal/security. The World War II Foundation does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside of the organization. All personal information is stored and encrypted. The Foundation collects email addresses, only. We do not collect or store any other personal information.

Secure Payments and Donations:

The Foundation uses PayPal for donations and ticket sales and recently began utilizing Square to be able to accept credit cards at the Global Education Center. The links to both privacy policies can be reviewed at the links below:
